They released their debut album, "The Silence In Black And White", in 2004 on Victory Records.

On November 24th, 2007, Casey Calvert died in his sleep while being on tour with the band.

No Cigar
No Cigar
No Cigar formed in a tiny garage over four years ago. All the while, we've passionately plugged away at refining our sound and honing our skills as artists and performers. We started out strong by self-producing a handful of five to six song EP's & some other various single tracks, as well as logging tens of thousands of miles playing shows around the US. Yet, after 4+ years, we haven't released a proper full-length album. Palm Mutes & Pick Slides will be No Cigar’s premiere full-length LP.

The Story

The band has been extremely busy behind the scenes lately. We’ve been tediously & meticulously crafting what we as a group, are aiming to be our greatest work to date. Perhaps in the bigger scheme of life, it's just another "coming of age" punk rock album consisting of young-adult yet still angst-filled lyrics, driving sonic textures, crashing cymbals, hook-filled guitars, and emotionally raw & melodic vocals... But at least we know in our hearts, that over the last four years plus... We have put our blood, sweat & tears into the sculpting of our sound, the lyrics that we write, and these twelve songs in particular.

We tracked Colton's drums at his house, in his nicest sounding room & we did it over the course of a weekend to further maximize his comfort & creativity. We took the same approach with Chris's guitar by recording his parts at his house, playing live through multiple amps in his own living room. Zach's bass, Nick's guitar, all the vocals & any extras were recorded by Nick in his home studio/makeshift garage/dungeon. Throughout the entire process, Nick paid the utmost attention to the engineering side of things, when it came to proper recording techniques, microphone placement/correct phasing, sample rates, bit rates, etc.

At this point there are very few things left for us to finish up before we call this thing done. A few more hours of mixing followed by multiple trips to the car for reference and we are ready to relinquish our grasp on these songs.

We will be sending off the final mixes to be mastered at Metropolis Studios in London, a legendary and world renowned recording studio with works ranging all the way from bands like the Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Sex Pistols & The Clash to more modern artists such as Amy Winehouse, U2, Adele, Bjork, The Killers, and tons more. They even put in some work on Kendrick Lamar's latest album, "Damn".

We've managed to secure an engineer by the name of Andy 'Hippy' Baldwin. Although his name may sound funny, his resume is spot on. As well as working with many newer acts (Arcade Fire, Mark Ronson, Coldplay, Interpol, Bo Ningen, and more), Andy has worked with a number of his musical influences including The Who, Blur and The Orb.

The cover art and all graphic design will be provided locally by the extremely talented, AJ Ostlund.

The official digital release date is slated for Friday, June 23rd. That's when it will be available on all download and streaming sites like Spotify, I-Tunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Tidal, etc.)

We will be celebrating the physical release with an all ages show on Saturday, June 24th @ the Pub Station in Billings MT. The line-up is stacked with local talent including Photoshoplifters, Treasure State & Silverbow Society.

The number of pre-orders received on this campaign will directly reflect how many physical copies we will have manufactured. If you want to get your hands on No Cigar's new full-length album, this is the only guaranteed way to go about it.

We appreciate every ounce of support this band has ever received. Whether in the past, present, or future... if our music has brightened any one person's day, helped someone work through a tough time, or was even just a minor distraction from your day to day, then no matter how minuscule our impact may be on the world... we would still consider all of this worth it.

This pre-order campaign will only last through May 10th. If your budget is too tight right now then that's okay, it would still mean a lot to us to have anybody share this page on their social networks, attend the cd release show, or simply just stream this album to death on their respective music service of choice when it's out on Friday, June 23rd.

Abducted in early 2016, The Photoshoplifters have been missing from society in exchange to create new Electronic Rock. Aware of our humanity, we make our confessions with a message to be understood. When our audio finds you, beware of profound side effects.
