"Love Your Locals" Local Showcase
"Love Your Locals" Local Showcase
We’re capping off Love Your Locals week by hosting a diverse group of local artists for a free, all ages concert celebrating the local music scene on the big stage at Pub Station Ballroom.

Calvin & The Coal Cars
A stylistically traditional Country Band from day one, the members of Calvin and the Coal Cars have been been singing, performing, and playing in sync as if they’d been together their entire musical careers. Throughout the course of the band’s union, they have won over the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life; performing at a variety of venues, making loads of public appearances, all the while recording new music. Learn more by exploring the site, and feel free to get in touch with any of your comments and questions.

Grooveshoe
A trio of funky, electro-based bass music. Always sure to share that infectious vibe to get people movin’. Mike Dodge, Chris Lutton & Blake Pierce.

Night in at Tiananmens
If you would like to hear our story, you should go to a show, you’ll learn everything you need to know from our set, I promise. Grindcore/Progressive metal is how we put it best, but like we said, come to a show and see for yourself. Try new things, be open to new experiences, don’t be an asshole. Support local music, not really a part of our story, now were just rambling. COME TO A SHOW! LONG LIVE GRIND!

Gray Joy (Formerly Silverbow Society)
Alternative punkish stuff with lots of melodies and vaguely post-hardcore undertones

Fracture
Fracture hails from Red Lodge, MT and has been wowing audiences with their high energy rock shows. Amazing guitar leads (Justin Satterfield), with their rock solid rhythm section (Paul Metzsch - drums), (Matt Windmueller - bass), topped with their beautiful and hard-hitting vocals (Lisa Satterfield), is sure to bring the house down.
Calvin and the Coal Cars
Calvin and the Coal Cars
Telecasters, pedal steel, acoustic guitars, and a straight forward
pocket rhythm section are the first things that come to mind
when someone mentions "real Country Music". And these are the
sounds that Calvin and the Coal Cars have in spades.

Add to that Lee Calvin's lyrics of small town living, lost love,
heartbreak, and nightlife, and you've got one of the best original
country bands the Rocky Mountains have seen in decades!

Calvin and the Coal Cars were first assembled to showcase the
songwriting of Lee Calvin in the fall of 2016. Since then, Lee
spent a year writing (and rewriting) his country tunes until the
band was reformed with new members in the spring of 2018. The
current lineup consists of Robert James and Matt Windmueller
on drums and bass, Dan Upton on lead telecaster, Brian
Wetzstein on pedal steel guitar and keyboards, and Lee Calvin on
vocals and his beloved Martin Acoustic.

The band pulls from their many influences, including Merle
Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Dwight Yoakam, Marty Stuart, Whitey
Morgan and the 78's, John Prine, Pink Floyd, and too many
others to list. With over 100 years of combined music experience, the varied backgrounds of the members of Calvin and the Coal Cars provide a tight sound and unique approach from each instrument.

In 2018, after less than a year together, CCC took home third
place in both the Best Country Band and Best Songwriter at the
Magic City Music Awards in Billings, Montana.

Calvin and the Coal Cars are set to release a live bootleg album,
and are currently planning their first studio album - Calvin and the Coal Cars, The Greatest Hits, Vol 1.
